What is the BTLA Crisis Grant?

Monetary Support available to folks in the Trans community who may be experiencing housing instability, employment loss or instability, crisis pertaining to the COVID 19 Pandemic, or any other hardship.

BTLA’s prioritizes Black, Latinx, and Indigenous members of the Trans and Gender Diverse community for the Black Trans Leadership Crisis Grant.

Recipients of this grant will receive $1000 via check or electronic gift card. Funds are expected to be awarded on April 8, 2021. Recipients can expect a follow up from a BTLA member about 4-6 weeks after funds are awarded.

Funding for BTLA’s Crisis Grant was made possible by the Reimagining Public Safety Grant which was established by direct budget cuts to the city of Austin Police Department.
